ACADEMY 3571
720 North Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL  (Frank McGovern)

Label was run by Frank McGoverns, (although some claim Lennie LaCour was the main A and R man). He issued a few good rockers and the odd vocal group on his label. Not too many releases have been discovered as yet. Here are two examples of the label design. The Wolf track "Stompin'..." is a good rocker. The Lennie LaCour is also pretty good - perhaps a slightly wacky vocal delivery, kinda reminds me of Wesley Hardin from Florida.. Nice enough though. There are other releases on the label - Hopefully I'll get label shots sharp enough to use. (Lennie LaCour was something of a musical entrepreneur in the Chicago area, but branched further afield as the mood took him. Would like to read his story for sure.

A side is a killer version of the Roy Hamilton song. Lots of reverb and attitude! Never heard flip but would like too :-)
